Terms of use
Last updated: 26 September 2026
These terms cover classroom.pet, operated by Edinplay Limited, registered in Scotland as SC881471, at 10 Eastern Avenue, Largs, North Ayrshire, KA30 9EG, United Kingdom.
Who can use classroom.pet
Adult accounts are for teachers and authorised school staff. By creating or using an account, you agree to these terms and confirm that you have authority for the classes you manage. Pupils use accounts created and supervised by their school; they do not buy subscriptions or enter a separate paid contract with us.
A personal teacher account means an account managed by one teacher. It does not remove the need for school authorisation to enter pupil information. Adults must explain appropriate use and the privacy promise to pupils in a way they understand.
Testing and future paid access
The site is currently in closed Alpha and is not open for public access. Alpha testing is free, no payment card is collected and it does not convert automatically into a paid subscription. Each adult and pupil needs their own sign-in when access is available.
Testing features can change, contain faults or become unavailable. Do not rely on classroom.pet as the only copy of essential school records or as a service for urgent support. Tell us about problems without including unnecessary pupil information.
Before any paid plan begins, we will separately agree its price, any applicable tax, classes covered, duration, renewal, cancellation and refund terms. Published launch prices are information about proposed plans, not an automatic charge. Any agreed school contract or processing agreement continues to govern the matters it covers.
Looking after accounts
Use a valid email address for your adult account. Pupil accounts use generated usernames. Keep any pupil-name mapping securely at school, outside this service. Keep passwords, PINs, Class Links, login cards and invitation links private, and sign out on shared devices.
Assigned teachers can view and print pupil PINs for classroom access. If a PIN or Class Link is shared accidentally, reset it through the authorised classroom controls or ask for help. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised access.
Use only accounts and classes you are authorised to access. Do not share adult accounts, try to discover another pupil's answer, bypass access controls, scrape personal information, introduce harmful code, disrupt the service or resell access without permission.
Pupil data and check-ins
The school is responsible for deciding whether classroom.pet is appropriate for its pupils, providing its privacy information and establishing the lawful basis for its use. Before real pupil use, the school and Edinplay must put the relevant data-processing agreement and privacy assessment in place. Accepting these website terms does not itself supply parental consent or replace that agreement.
Check-ins show whole-class totals after closure and a minimum of five responses. Exact counts can include one, so classroom knowledge can allow guesses. Results do not identify which child needs help. They are not an individual assessment, diagnosis, attendance record or safeguarding reporting service.
Keep using the school's safeguarding and pastoral support procedures. Do not make significant decisions about an individual child from these class results. Our privacy policy explains the information the service processes.
Our content and your feedback
You may use the service for your authorised classroom activities and print login cards for your class. The software, artwork and branding remain the property of Edinplay or the relevant rights holder. Access does not transfer ownership or allow redistribution outside permitted classroom use.
You retain rights in information you supply. You authorise us to process it to provide the service under the applicable privacy arrangements. If you choose to send product feedback, we may use the suggestions to improve classroom.pet; please leave pupil information out of feedback.
Leaving, suspension and deletion
You can stop testing and contact us to close access. Adults can also use the account deletion controls. A school owner or an owner of a shared personal account must arrange ownership transfer before deleting their adult login. Removing a teacher does not automatically remove the school's classes.
Deleting a solely owned personal teacher account also removes its classes and pupil accounts. Ask for any information you need before confirming deletion. Deleting a pupil removes their account and game records from the live service but does not recalculate previously published class totals. See the privacy policy for retention, school instructions and provider records.
We may restrict access where necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law or carry out essential maintenance. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and help the school arrange access to or return of its information. Ending access does not remove data-protection obligations.
Responsibility and changes
We take reasonable care in providing the service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access during testing. These terms do not exclude statutory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
External links lead to services with their own terms and privacy practices. We publish changes to these terms with an updated date and bring material changes affecting existing users to their attention before they take effect where practicable. Separately agreed subscription and school terms continue to apply.
Scots law applies, with non-exclusive jurisdiction in the Scottish courts. Consumers retain mandatory protections and court rights available where they live. Contact [email protected] about these terms or a problem using the service.
